1- What is the Heineken Regatta?

The Sint Maarten Heineken Regatta is, first of all, an atmosphere. During a weekend, on the first of March, the festival is in full swing with the presence of 200 boats in the background, which, through the colors of their sails, form a shimmering picture. Spectacular sailboats, family cruisers, and even prototypes are present during this regatta to the delight of all, amateurs and neophytes alike.

The festive side of the event does not prevent the seriousness of the competition, which is an important date on the world sailing calendar. The most renowned sailors would not miss the opportunity to drop anchor off the bays of Saint Martin, whose many attractions they know how to appreciate.

At nightfall, the crews are rewarded for their efforts during the many concerts of Caribbean music, with sounds of calypso, hip-hop, reggae, soca, and not forgetting jazz.

2- Heinken Regatta's 2024 program !

The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta will celebrate its 44th edition in 2024 from FEB. 29 - March 3, in Simpson Bay, many maxi, monohulls, and multihulls were set to sail and to compete around the island of Saint Martin.

The Heineken Regatta village opened its doors on Wednesday, Feb. 29th at 10 am, in the marina. It was possible to go there to make reservations for the various events and concerts planned throughout the next four days. The start of the regatta is scheduled every day at 10 am sharp. At the end of each race, it is time to celebrate from 3 pm. Sailors will have front row seats, taking part in the festivities themselves from their pontoon. A new competition will then start, rewarding the best entertainers, the most original outfits, as well as the best interaction between the sailors and the crowd of revelers.

Concerts are scheduled every evening, after the award ceremony of the day. Don't miss any of the concerts that are planned.

Racing schedule of Heineken Regatta 2024 :

• On February 28 2024 : registration day, 08:30am to 06:00 pm

• On Thursday February 29 2024 : racing day 1 from 9:55am to 06:00

• On Friday March 1, 2024 : racing day 2 from 09:55 am to 06:00

• On Saturday March 3, 2024 : racing day 3 from 09:55am to 06:00

3- How to experience the Heineken Regatta?

If you own a small beach catamaran, a luxury yacht, a trimaran, or any other type of boat, all you have to do is register to take part in the Heineken Regatta from the inside. If you are not the proud owner of a boat, you can still take part in the competition aboard one of the 70 boats available for charter.

One of the attractions of the Sint Maarten Regatta is that it gives amateur sailors a chance to rub shoulders with the bigger ones, by challenging them in a show-off. Other options are possible to be at the heart of the event, such as being a crew member on one of the legendary boats or even boarding a follower boat. In other words, participation in the famous regatta is open to everyone.

The stages of the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta are chosen before the top start, depending on the weather conditions. The field of action is wide, as it stretches along the coastline of St. Martin and Sint Maarten, from the Anguilla Canal to Phillipsburg, via the Bay of Marigot.

4- The Heineken Regatta in favor of sustainable development

The Heineken Regatta is deeply committed to sustainable development and environmental protection. For the 42th edition of the race, a sum of $41,900 was raised to finance various ecological projects on the island of Sint Maarten.

In collaboration with the Rotary Club of St Maarten, Rotary St Maarten-Mid Isle, and Motorworld, a raffle was organized with a car and many other prizes as a reward. Thanks to this great initiative, Sint Maarten has acquired a machine that can clean efficiently and durably.

The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta always takes place on the first weekend of March and lasts for 4 days.
